Configuring Trumpet Winsock in Windows 3.1 for use with Channel 1.
If you've already got Trumpet Winsock on your system, follow these directions; if not we can send you disks.
You can request disks when you sign up or by calling us at 617-864-0100.
You can also download the installer from us and put it onto two floppies.
Configuring Trumpet Winsock:
- Bring up Trumpet from the Program Manager.
- Click on the File menu in Trumpet Winsock, and select "Setup"
- Configure as follows:
- IP: 0.0.0.0
- Netmask: 255.255.255.255
- Name Server: 199.1.13.9
- Domain Suffix: channel1.com
- Default Gateway: 199.1.13.1
- Packet Vector: 00
- MTU: 512
- TCP RWIN: 848
- TCP MSS: 216
- Demand Load Timeout[secs]: 5
- TCP RTO MAX: 60
- Internal PPP should be checked
- SLIP Port: 1
- Baud Rate: 115200
- Hardware Handshake should be checked.
- Online Status Detection: DCD [RCLSD] check
- Click OK
- From the main Trumpet screen, click Dialler and select "setup.cmd"
- Enter the phone number for your area (test with 617 349 1201 if you don't know your local number). Click OK.
- Enter your username. Click OK.
- Enter your password. Click OK.
- To connect, click Dialler and select "Login"
