This is the basic information for installing RAS on WindowsNT 4 with Service Pack 3. Some items maybe different if you are using a different version. In most cases, you will need your Windows NT CD to install RAS.

3. Click on the Add button. In the screen that pops up, scroll down and choose "Remote Access Service" and then click the OK button. Click here for Screen Shot.
4. Once you have installed it, the Remote Access Setup window should open. If it does not, select Remote Access Service then click on the Properties button.Your modem's Com port should be listed in this box, if have no entries, click the Add button and choose one of the listed devices. If there are no devices listed, choose Install Modem and setup your modem (consult your NT manual or your modem's manual). Click here for Screen Shot.
5. Click on Continue and you should now have a "Dial-Up Networking" icon under My Computer.
The following information can be used to check your Channel 1 RAS Settings. Some settings will be dependant on your computer (such as the brand of your modem) but basic options will remain the same. You can also use this information to setup your Channel 1 RAS settings if you can not use the Wizard in the normal setup.
