NEW! Virtual
Servers Lower Price and Up-Grades January 1, 1998
As an Internet Service
Provider, Channel 1 Communications provides full Domain Name Services.
We can:
- assist you with InterNIC's Domain Name Registration process
- act as your primary (secondary and tertiary) Host Name
Server
- provide DNS (Domain Name Service) for your connectivity so that you
may send and receive e-mail as username@yourdomain.com
- host your Virtual Server Website or Collocation Server
for your unique www.yourdomain.com web address and/or
ftp.yourdomain.com site
Registering your Domain Name: Channel 1 can process your Domain Name
Registration request with the InterNIC on your behalf for a one-time $25 handling fee.
If you would like a Domain Name Registration Request Form,
click here to print one from this website
or you may telephone us at 617-864-0100 or e-mail us at
sales@channel1.com and
we will mail or fax the Request Form to you per your instructions. We will
process your Domain Name Registration Request within 24 hours of receipt.
We ask that you allow 2-4 weeks for the InterNIC to confirm registration, (although
7-10 days is typical.) Please also note,
InterNIC will invoice you separately $70 for the first two years of registration.
Domain Name Service (for E-Mail as yourname@yourdomain.com): Domain Name Service
(DNS) is included on our Virtual
Server Website with DNS Account. DNS also may be
added on to either the
Business Website Value Account, or,
onto any of our All-Purpose
Accounts for an additional $10/month. DNS allows you to send and receive
E-Mail as: yourname@yourdomain.com
Virtual Server Website or Server Collocation: Channel 1 can host your
unique website URL as www.yourdomain.com by dedicating one of our
multi-homed fractional T3-based server ports with its own IP number for your Domain Name
with our Virtual Server Website with
DNS Account. Our Server
Collocation services would also include www.yourdomain.com
website addressing as desired.
Host Name Server: If you already have a registered Domain Name, and
are interested in switching to Channel 1 as your Host Name Provider, you
would need to submit your own "Modify" Domain Name Request via
e-mail to the InterNIC Hostmaster. See DNS
Modify Info for Channel 1 Technical Contact and Name Host Server Names.
